When his father sold his Punjab property and moved to Patna, Mika Singh was raised in Patna Bihar. In order to achieve his dream of becoming a music director, Mika Singh started learning tabla at age 8 and played harmonium at 12 years old before taking up guitar lessons. In a show organised for the Indian army, he dedicated his self-made song Vande Mataram to Mother India. He has also started an NGO named Divine Touch because his mother always wanted him to help others.
